Hi List.
An old problem, as my readings through many post in the list show me...
People trying to automate Lasso service, or site, restart... Sometimes twice a day !
We have an issue with one of our app online that causes lasso, one site in fact, to crash and restart alone.
The server, as seen in the activity monitor, has less and less memory available... From 2.8 Go in normal activity to less than 10 Mo !
Well, we have cues to enhance the scripts to behave better and not let happen this memory hog.
But while doing this kind of rewriting, I learned, instead of restarting Lasso or even the machine, to use my Shell on the server with the "purge" command. And it works fine.
As expected, the memory is released without restarting anything.
I first put a task in the server cron which purges de memory once a day (testing right now.).
I am now wondering if we could insert somewhere in our script an OS_Process tag to perform that "purge" command only when needed ?
What do you think ?
We usualy use OS_Process to run software from Lasso on the server, but not shell commands, so how to call system "purge" with it ?
Thanks for comments !
JP
