ds connection options
I've been experimenting with something, following guidance in
these two items.
https://github.com/zeroloop/ds/wiki/Working-with-data-sources-%E2%80%94-ds#defining-ds-connections
http://lasso.2283332.n4.nabble.com/The-better-alternative-to-thread-variables-Yet-another-issue-of-the-highly-irregular-Non-Weekly-Lasst-tt4643359.html
I put a bunch of variables into a website's config file,
`siteN_config.lasso`, and place it in LassoStartup. Repeat for
every website, like so.
siteN_config.lasso
------------------
define siteN_table1_ds => var(siteN_table1_ds) or
$__siteN_table1_ds := ds(
::mysqlds,
'localhost',
::db.table1,
'siteN_username',
'siteN_password')
define siteN_table2_ds => var(siteN_table2_ds) or
$__siteN_table2_ds := ds(
::mysqlds,
'localhost',
::db.table2,
'siteN_username',
'siteN_password')
In the context of the ds type, are there any advantages or
disadvantages to doing this which are not mentioned in the above
two referenced items?
Also from what I've gathered, using the host connection method
in ds bypasses Lasso Admin, and is therefore the fastest method
to execute, correct?
