Using types in lasso 9
Hi, All:
I am looking for direction in design/architecture.
I am assuming that types once defined are "global" in nature, and that all of these will be available to any requests that come in.
I was looking at what Ke was suggesting to manage a dynamic database. If I define a type
define tsdb => string($tsdb)
Then this means that tsdb is available to all pages. Not exactly what I want I think. The risk I see is the following. If two pages execute at about the same time then the value of tsdb could change from what is defined in the page. Is this correct?
That is:
page 1:
define tsdb => string(`xxx`)
.....
tsdb
page 2:
define tsdb => string(`yyy`)
.....
tsdb
could output
xxx
yyy
xxx
xxx
yyy
yyy
depending on the timing of the execution of both threads
We do need our database connections to be very dynamic, and so I am looking for the best way to handle this.
