To use or not to use Stackoverflow

I am a true believer of using email lists as compared to online forums. For the very reasons Wade brings up and also because it puts it right in front of my nose not having to go to a web page to see if anything new has come up. I find mailing lists very convenient.
However.
The reason Justin has started to use Stackoverflow is because he attended the LDC at Niagara Falls. It was highlighted there that Lasso needs exposure, to be out and about, noticed, in the "real" world where shit like PHP, Python and Ruby dwells. So, among other things, Wikipedia can believe Lasso is something that people actually use.
The discussion at LDC ended up in a recommendation that we'd start using Stackoverflow more for the very kind of questions that Justin has used it for. And keep discussions of a more general Lasso nature on the Lasso list. Like the thread I'm initiating now.
I agree with that reasoning. And also find other benefits in Stackoverflow. It is a helpful, feature rich service that has come a long way in mitigating the drawbacks online forums are burdened with.
In conclusion I can't support Wades rant. He's just dealing with an overflow of stomach acids due to the frustration he's feeling for not being able to make it to the LDC and thus missing out on all the tremendous fun we had there. Right, Wade? :-)
