Restarting a thread object
We have some thread objects using active_tick and performing regular unmonitored activities. Mostly communicating with remote servers.
These threads can unpredictably go completely deaf. They will stop doing what they're supposed to do and stop responding to simple calls. No error messages, just deafness.
It looks like this is due to getting stuck on include_url calls. But that's not what I'm addressing here.
Our problem is that we can't come up with a way to kill of the deaf thread and have it start fresh without restarting the entire instance. A drastic measure that we would want to avoid as much as possible.
Looking at the documentation for thread objects does not reveal any solution. There's a mentioning of a way to end a thread by calling abort but I can't get my syntax tries working. Would love an example on how to do that.
Or a call like mythread -> kill or something similar.
