Re: Smart Quotes
In FMP, try using a double-quoted literal string to search for
smart quotes, I think "”" is the syntax.
In FMP > File > File Options > Text, uncheck "Use smart quotes".
In Lasso 9, your files should not have a BOM, which is a change
from Lasso 8.
You can do some tests for encoding of smart quotes in a sample
file and compare between FM and MySQL to see whether the
encoding borkage is in the Lasso datasource connector.
'“smart quotes” aren't very smart'
'<br>'
'<h1>FileMaker</h1>'
// inline to FM to return a record with smart quotes
inline(...stuff...) => {^
'action_statement: ' + action_statement
'<br>'
records => {^
'myfield: ' +field('myfield')
'<br>'
^}
^}
'<h1>MySQL</h1>'
// inline to MySQL to return a record with smart quotes
inline(...stuff...) => {^
'action_statement: ' + action_statement
records => {^
'myfield: ' +field('myfield')
'<br>'
^}
^}
