Re: Help with lasso 9

I got this question from somebody who, for unknown reasons, was unable to post to the list.
First, I am not a Windows user so there can be nuances specific for Windows that I’m unaware of.
But part from that, Lasso 9 is run under a specific user, by default _lasso, belonging to a group _lasso. Anything that user can do is what Lasso 9 can do. So there’s nothing you can do inside Lasso 9 config to handle file rights. What you do is that you use the standard OS specific tools and commands to give the _lasso user/group write access to the place you want Lasso to put your files.
This place can be wherever you want on a hard drive that the server has access to, it does not need to be inside the web root. In fact, if the files are to be protected from access by unauthorized users it’s preferred to put them outside of the web root.
Another thing to remember is that when you upload a file, they are only available in the temp dir for as long as the upload thread is active. It is your responsibility to provide code to copy/move the file before the thread is finished with its execution.
I have code to help you with that on gist, but I have to admit. It has not, to my knowledge, been tested on Windows.
You can get it and test for your self here:
