Is this a bug or something I just don’t understand?


local(
startdate = date('2015-01-01'),
enddate = date('2016-01-01')
)

#startdate -> dayofweek = 2
#enddate -> dayofweek = 2
#enddate -> add(-day = 6)
#startdate
'<br>'
#enddate

->
2015-11-23
2015-11-29

whereas this:

local(
startdate = date('2015-01-01'),
enddate = date('2016-01-01')
)
#startdate
'<br>'
#enddate
'<br>'

#startdate -> dayofweek = 2
#enddate -> dayofweek = 2
#enddate -> add(-day = 6)
#startdate
'<br>'
#enddate

->
2015-01-01
2016-01-01
2014-12-29
2016-01-03

Of course the second outcome is what I desire. But I don’t understand why dayofweek changes behavior when the date object has been output as string first.

Testing done on Lasso 9.3.1 B3 using OS X Yosemite.
