LP 8.x - LJax
Hello all,
I’ve not ever used the LP 8.5.6 Ajax tags but I do have a scenario where they might come in handy.
So, I have a user portal that gets a lot of traffic. Most of it is fed with a query that executes pretty quickly - a single record fetch. It populates a pretty standard info section on the page, saying who you are etc.
There is one section on the page, lets call it a div, that shows information that’s generated from multiple REST calls to an external service - it can take a _lot_ longer. So, since its a portal, and its coming from a login page, the login time seems really slow because the page is a monolithic page load that has to wait for everything, the slow and fast bits together.
So, my thought was - segment the slow portion into its own box, and have that load at its own pace, maybe with a spinning wheel animation, while the rest of the page has had a chance to fully render already and therefore allow other interactions.
Has anyone done something like this?
Peter
