FileMaker 15
Anyone running the recently released FileMaker Server 15?
Preliminary testing of FMS15 under Mac OS 10.10 suggests Lasso 8.6 works the same as FMS12 thru FMS14. Haven't test Lasso 9 yet. Way back when, FileMaker changed it's XML responses and broke some things in FMS12 for Lasso 8.6, most of which we've been able to workaround. There appears to be no differences in the XML response from FMS15, besides versioning info.
The developer of a FMS benchmarking tool, dsBenchmark, suggests an 8% bump in performance. Not great, but he also notes FMS15 recovers more quickly when overloaded, and runs faster given a smaller RAM cache than FMS14.

A minor but interesting enhancement to FMS15 for web developers is the "Top call statistics log" function, described as "...the client requests (up to 25) that have the longest elapsed time during the statistics collection interval." I haven't dug into this fully but it appears similar to SQL's Slow Query Log.
Another item of interest (or outrage) is a change in FMS15's EULA. Basically as of FileMaker Server 15, if you are a FileMaker hosting provider, you can only host one client per FMS15 license. So no shared hosting, each client is required to have their own physical or virtualized server. FMS14 and earlier remains unaffected by this licensing change. FMI says this is for security purposes and not just to sell more server licenses. If they slashed their licensing costs, and gave us a FMS Linux installer, I'd be more inclined to agree.
