[ANN] Siteshell.net tools available licensing/development
Hello Listers,
I=92m pleased to announce that Siteshell.net (also known as Lassosmart.com) is making available or licensing or development some very mature and tested tools developed over the last 13 years to the Lasso developer community. These tools have been used to power complex web applications used by Nasa, Apple, and the University of Indiana, as well as many other private companies.
The tools include:
1. The Siteshell Core - A complete system for handling the =93Core=94 functions of a typical, dynamic Lasso-driven site. That includes user/group management, tag-based authentication of Lasso code (who can see what), url- or lasso code-based authentication of pages (via url keys or static page keys), database optimization interface, and a lot of other goodies.
2. The Siteshell CMS - An extremely robust Content Management System developed continuously over the last 10 years. It allows creation of multiple document types, feeds, categories (tags), all authenticated to flexible and definable user groups. Binary (database) storage of content, WYSYWG editing, etc.
3. The Siteshell API - supporting the above two products is an API of dozens or CTypes and hundreds of Ctags that allow great flexibility in presenting content. Want to show the first 30 articles of a feed to only the sales group and the finance group, but only articles tagged with the category =93Sales Forms=94? No problem - it can be handled in one instance.
Most recently, Siteshell.net=92s flagship product, Siteshell CMS, has served as the core of a suite of web applications that has seen its owner grow from a 8 million dollar company to a 40 million dollar company with multiple locations in the US. All this using an extensive and robust, secure and most importantly well-tested code base compatible with Lasso 8.5 which represents over 500+ man hours of effort. (Take a look at LinkedIn page for related testimonials www.linkedin.com/pub/peter-d-bethke/0/26b/7b/).
Two of the sites written in the Shell were featured in the past by Lassosoft (then called Omnipilot) as case studies for Lasso-driven successes (the NASA SLSTPAA Alumni locator, and the Indiana University=92s Early Childhood Meeting Place (http://www.earlychildhoodmeetingplace.org/)). In addition, from 2001 to 2005 an earlier version of the Shell powered the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, a joint effort between Apple Computer and the State of Maine.
- If you are just starting out in Lasso and need a find way to create a web application =93right out of the box=94 that handles multiple users and groups, page and/or section authentication, and even authenticated content management - this will get you well on your way.
- If you are an experienced Lasso developer needing to integrate a CMS or user/group management system into your existing solution, we can help you.
- If you are a Lasso developer who has inherited a site that runs on something called the =93Corral Method=94 - we can definitely help you.
In addition, Siteshell.net is available to assist on all Lasso-based projects, on a consulting, coding, or architecting basis. We specialize in innovative and flexible solutions, workflow automation, site architecture, and content management.
