Lasso 9.3.2b2 available
(This was sent out last month to the lasso9beta list, but I wanted to give it some more exposure.)
Beta 2 of Lasso 9.3.2 is available for download. Initial change notes are at <http://www.lassosoft.com/Lasso-9-Change-Notes>.
- This release focuses on improving Windows' performance and installation experience. Most of its underlying libraries were updated to match what other platforms are running, and updating its garbage collection engine to gc 7.2d seems to have eliminated most of its runaway CPU usage issues. (They can still happen on Windows if the LUX interface is left open in a browser.)
- Updating Windows' LJAPI plugin to Java 8 seems to have fixed its PDF functions.
- Windows was writing log files to the wrong directory. This has been fixed, although file handle issues are preventing server logs from being read by LUX.
- The Quick Code form would consistently crash if commands were entered in quick succession. This turns out to have been a bug in our specific version of SQLite, which was solved by bumping it to 3.8.6 across the board.
- The lassoim binary would only run if $LASSO9_HOME points to the master home (usually /var/lasso/home/.), but on the shell, it points to /var/lasso/global_cli_home/. Running it with `sudo lassoim` would work because it skips passing the current environment's vars, causing lassoim to look in its default folder path. It's been modified to check for and use the value of $LASSO9_MASTER_HOME if available, allowing it to more easily be run manually.
- The values for sys_homePath and sys_masterHomePath were adjusted to always have two leading slashes and one trailing slash (e.g. "//var/lasso/home/" or "C://Program Files/LassoSoft/Lasso Server with LUX/home/"), ensuring they're always treated as absolute paths. This fixed numerous issues in LUX on Windows.
- OS X 10.7+
